En dam säger: "Ni vet, jag håller på att bli riktigt glömsk. I morse stod jag högst upp i trappan och jag kunde inte komma ihåg om jag just hade kommit upp eller om jag skulle gå ner." One lady says, "You know, I'm getting really forgetful. This morning, I was standing at the top of the stairs, and I couldn't remember whether I had just come up or was about to go down." Den andra damen säger: "Tycker du att det är illa? Här om dagen satt jag på sängkanten och jag kunde inte komma ihåg om jag skulle gå och lägga mig eller om jag just hade vaknat!" The second lady says, "You think that's bad? The other day, I was sitting on the edge of my bed, and I couldn't remember whether I was going to sleep or had just woken up!" Den tredje damen ler belåtet. The third lady smiles smugly. "Ja, mitt minne är lika bra som det alltid har varit, ta i trä", säger hon och knackar på bordet. "Well, my memory is just as good as it's always been, knock on wood", she says as she raps on the table. Sen frågar hon med skrämd uppsyn: "Vem där?"
